Project Manager
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, #CombatCovid emerged as a powerful citywide public art campaign led by Poster House in collaboration with PRINT Magazine, Times Square Arts, and For Freedoms.
As the creative producer and project manager, Ola played a pivotal role in coordinating efforts between more than 20 contributing designers, renowned figures like Steven Heller from PRINT Magazine, Debbie Millman of Design Matters, and key advertisers such as LinkNYC, JCDecaux, Silvercast, Pearl Media, and Times Square Arts.
This initiative transformed New York City into an open-air gallery, featuring public service announcements (PSAs) and heartfelt messages of gratitude across nearly 1,800 digital screens and billboards. Displayed on major platforms like the Lincoln Tunnel’s digital billboard, Times Square's digital building wraps, and LinkNYC’s citywide network, the campaign reached millions of essential workers and residents during one of the city’s most challenging times.
Ola’s coordination ensured the campaign’s seamless execution, bringing together creative and logistical elements to inspire and support New Yorkers. The project garnered widespread media coverage, including features in The New York Times, NPR, Fast Company, PBS News, Vulture, and design outlets such as Creative Review, Graphic Design USA, It's Nice That, What Design Can Do, and more.
Ola also contributed a PSA poster design, alongside iconic designers like Paula Scher, Milton Glaser, Seymour Chwast, Emily Oberman, Maira Kalman, Edel Rodriguez, Klaas Verplancke, and Zipeng Zhu. In 2022, the project was acquired by the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum as part of the Responsive Collecting Initiative, underscoring its significance in showcasing the design community’s urgency and resilience in 2020.
